Darenka’s art has strongly been influenced by her heritage, having been born in the central state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Photography has allowed her to amplify the importance of advocating for gender equality in everyday life, mental health awareness, as well as providing insight into sustainability and our carbon footprint on our planet. She aspires to collaborate with organizations and non-profits to improve the access of resources for those affected by genocide, war, crime and heavily impoverished regions of the world. Through her photography she hopes to shine a light on how we can provide a better future for others, like the one she was able to obtain when immigrating to the United States.
